Project scope:

VILPOL printing house exists since 1990. Over the years of activity, it has gained vast experience and built a solid production base. It belongs to one of the best equipped printing houses in the Masovian Voivodeship. It employs about 200 people, who create the departments of: customer service, sales, calculations, prepress, technology, printing, bookbinding, blanking, as well as logistics and transport. The project involved the implementation of the results of R&D into production, concerned investments in property, plant and equipment related to the plant’s diversification, thanks to which it was possible to implement innovative products and apply modern technical solutions.

R&D works were carried out partly using own personal resources as well as at the request. They relate to a new method of producing documents containing glowing electroluminescent structures using standard screen printing technologies and offset printing. The results of R&D works have been reported for patent protection in the form of a patent. The project was carried out on the company’s premises and involved the purchase of:- eight-color offset printing machine, which was the main and necessary expense in the project, and together with the infrastructure it created a complete production line.

Project goals:

The purpose of the project was to launch new innovative products on the international market, packaging, advertising stands and children’s books with printed electroluminescent structures. New products use the potential of printed electroluminescent electronics, which is characterized by durability, low power consumption, lower light intensity and surface effect.

Project meaning:The result of the project is the diversification of production towards the production of innovative products with printed electroluminescent structures. These products as well as the method of their production are the result of research. The commercialization of the undertaking contributed to achieving high competitiveness and innovation of the company, including the extension of the offer with new products constituting innovations on the international market characterized by features and functionalities exceeding currently known technologies used, and additionally possible to be produced in the process of continuous production on printing machines.

New products have significantly contributed to the development of the printed advertising materials industry as well as the market of interactive children’s books and the entire printed electronics market. The introduced product innovations are a response to the needs of customers, including advertising companies and producers interested in modern methods of advertising their products, as well as children and their parents – recipients of interactive booklets. The obtained features are desired by the advertising and book market, as evidenced by the analysis and received letters of intent.

“Thanks to the innovative combination of two screen printing and offset techniques and the use of variable voltage, we have created a unique lighting effect. Due to the thin structure, electroluminescent printing is versatile and finds application in various types of printed materials “- summed up the beneficiary.
