Protection against the flood of the Kłodzko Valley, with particular emphasis on the protection of the city of Kłodzko
The task is part of the Flood Protection Project in the Odra and Vistula River Basins, which is implemented with the support of international financial institutions: International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Council of Europe Development Bank.
The scope of the Project consists of 4 elements:
- Construction of the Boboszów dry flood control reservoir on the Nysa Kłodzka river with a capacity of 1.4 million m3,
- Construction of the Roztoki Bystrzyckie dry flood control reservoir on the Goworówka stream with a capacity,
- Construction of the Szalejów Górny dry flood control reservoir on the Bystrzyca Dusznicka river with a capacity of 10.67 million m3,
- Construction of the Krosnowice dry flood control reservoir on the Duna Dolna river with a capacity of 1.9 million m3.
The objective of the Project is to improve the flood safety of the residential buildings in the Nysa Kłodzka Valley with special regard to the town of Kłodzko by reducing flood flows.
It is envisaged that the Project will provide flood protection for about 1,237 inhabitants, private and public infrastructure located in Kotlina Kłodzka and tourists for p=1% flood.
