Development of green areas in the area of the city of Tarnobrzeg
The project in question, implemented in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in the municipality of Tarnobrzeg, includes 3 areas located in the city:
- Area 1 – the area underlain by the Vistula River,
- Area 2 – the area located on Kopernika/Sikorskiego Street,
- Area 3 – the area located along the main arteries of the city (Wislostrada Street and part of Sikorskiego Street).
The scope of the project includes, among other things, greenery works, construction of small architecture elements, construction of a flower meadow, construction of a natural playground. The total area of the site covered by the project in question is 17.74 Ha. As a result of the project, new green areas with a total area of 14.82 ha will be created. The formal criterion will be met that the area after the project will be at least 70% covered with greenery, provided free of charge.
The project includes solutions to improve the biodiversity of green areas by limiting the occurrence of plants belonging to invasive species, preserving valuable trees, creating multi-story and multi-species greenery arrangements based on native species, and introducing solutions beneficial to nature conservation, such as nesting boxes for birds, hotels for insects.
