"Modernization of the Odra River locks on the section managed by RZGW Gliwice - adaptation to class III waterway" Phase II
The project “Modernization of the Odra River locks on the section managed by RZGW Gliwice – adaptation to class III of the waterway” includes the modernization of four locks:
- The Kłodnica Lock
- The Rudziniec Lock
- The Dzierżno Lock
- The Łabędy Lock
In 2015, a decision was made to divide the project into phase I and phase II.As part of the first phase of the project, implemented under the OPI&E 2007-2013 financial perspective, the documentation necessary for the implementation was prepared, the works were started and carried out (the assumed effect was achieved) on the Kłodnica and Rudziniec locks, and the works on the Dzierżno and Łabędy locks were commenced. The application under the second phase of the project submitted under the OPI&E 2014-2020 financial perspective assumes the continuation of works and the achievement of an effect at the Dzierżno and Łabędy locks.The following items remain to be completed in the second phase of the Project:- Łabędy Lock: completion of the renovation of the southern chamber (completion of works on avanports, commissioning of the circulation pipeline with drilling of the inlet chamber, renovation of the northern chamber along with related works in engine rooms, commissioning of comprehensive control systems, completion of the replacement of electrical and water-sewage networks, land development and purchase of equipment.- Dzierżno lock: completion of the renovation of the southern chamber, completion of works on avanports, commissioning of the circulation pipeline and pumping station, renovation of the northern chamber, completion of the renovation of buildings, renovation of the inter-lock gallery, commissioning of comprehensive control systems, completion of the replacement of electrical and water and sewage networks, land development and purchase of equipment.The main objective of the investment is to improve the conditions of water transport on the Gliwice Canal by increasing the capacity, improving efficiency, increasing traffic safety and improving the reliability of the operation of devices, which in turn will lead to obtaining the parameters of the Gliwice Canal locks appropriate for the class III waterway. The project is implemented under the Program Operational Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020, is a continuation of the investment started during the previous perspective (OPI&E 2007-2013) and includes the completion of the modernization of two locks: Łabędy and Dzierżno.
