The aim of the project is to increase the mobility of city residents, travel comfort, safety, and reduce travel time. The project contributes to environmental protection.
As part of the project, 3 stations will be built to the west (Płocka C-8, Młynów C-7, Księcia Janusza C-6) and 3 stations to the north-east (Szwedzka C-16, Targówek C-17, Trocka C-18) together with tunnels, side tracks and ventilation rooms. There will be built a parking hall for trains (object No. 6) and a chemical materials warehouse (object No. 13a) on the area of the Technical and Parking Station (STP) in Kabaty (Ursynów). 13 new trains will be purchased to service the extended II metro line with 3 + 3 sections.
