Purchase of modern ecological buses for the development of public transport in the Tychy subregion
The purpose of this project is to improve public transport operating in the city of Tychy by rebuilding the existing infrastructure and increasing the number of environmentally friendly buses and trolleybuses.
The implementation of the undertaking will affect:
- increasing the attractiveness of public transport – shortening travel time, improving safety and comfort of travel,
- creating an alternative to individual transport – reducing the decline in the number of people using public transport and reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2,
- improving the accessibility of infrastructure for disabled people, which will be provided by, among others low-floor buses and trolleybuses rolling stock with folding platforms,
- improving the communication of the functional area of the city of Tychy by building a trolleybus line launching public transport between the housing estates W, Z, T and facilitating access to recreational areas of the Paprocany Recreation Center. The project allows to improve the communication connection of the city center with educational and sports centers.
The purchase of rolling stock diversified in terms of capacity and technical parameters will ensure its efficient usage (lower energy consumption compared to the rolling stock currently in use), reduction of automotive congestion in the city, stopping the degradation of the public transport system, stopping the decrease in the number of public transport passengers, including people with disabilities, improving the quality of services provided, improving traffic flow and reducing the negative impact of transport on the environment. The project involves the purchase of modern public transport fleet, including in particular:
- 8 CNG type A buses,
- 20 CNG type B buses,
- 23 CNG type C buses,
- 10 microbuses,
- 2 electric buses,
- 3 trolleybuses,
- 2 service vehicles for bus rolling stock,
- 1 technical emergency service for trolleybus rolling stock,
- construction of 1.9 km of trolleybus traction network in the section of ul.Nad Jeziorem – ul. Jankowicka with a transformer – rectifier station, LV cable line and reconstruction of the traction network on the section Rondo Zesłańców Sybiru – ul. Nad Jeziorem.
- reconstruction of the technical base of the depot serving bus and trolley bus rolling stock.
