Implementation of ecological technology of APCG PE regranulate production, with the use of recycled plastic material
Akpol has dealt with plastic recycling since 2005. The company, intending to strengthen its market position, was searching for the possibility to expand its offer and target larger volume of potential customers. On company’s request, Institute For Engineering Of Polymer Materials & Dyes in Toruń have prepared the production technology of brand new granulate: APCG PE (Antimicrobial Polymer Composition Granules of Polyethylene). Through the content of biocide (a plant-based chemical substance) it has bactericidal properties. New type of granulate can be used to produce foil fabric for bags or packagings. The project consisted of implementation of research and development results and launching new production line. The company has bought machines and devices allowing for the mass scale APCG PE production. It is worth mentioning that the technology utilizes recycled materials and thus perfectly fits in sustainable development policy. Implementation of the project has led Akpol to expand company’s offer with completely new product and therefore strengthen its market position. The company is now completing local and international orders.
