In addition to the basic equipment for survival and daily functioning, trainees had to have appropriate clothing and equipment for field work on glaciers and in their vicinity, and to have weapons and ammunition at their disposal (on the island, outside Longyearbyen, possession and ability to use weapons are mandatory – due to the presence of polar bears)” (the above information was taken from the correspondence with Beneficiary 16/01/2019).
