Implementation of innovative technology for the production of set-on and bolt-on weights as a factor of obtaining lasting competitive advantage of the Mikołajczyk Zbigniew Piotr company
Mikołajczyk Zbigniew Piotr company from Milicz, which was established almost half a century ago, initially functioned as the Wierzchowice Concrete Plant and sold mainly precast concrete. In the production of precast elements, various types of concrete are used – from ordinary ones, used e.g. in the construction of concrete and reinforced concrete structural elements, to special ones, e.g. decorative.
Over time, the company expanded its offer with additional services related to all types of earthworks, engineering, demolition and road works, and in recent years it has expanded the production of concrete products and launched construction materials stores.
The company is constantly improving its products and modernising technologies. Obtained subsidy from EU funds allowed it to become even more competitive. It was possible thanks to the implementation of innovative concrete production technology with modelled setting time and high water-cementitious material ratio, starting the production of innovative set-on and bolt-on weights for the construction of high-pressure gas pipelines with large diameters, as well as infrastructure investments. Those include the purchase of new machinery and equipment and the acquisition of the production area (hall) in which new products are manufactured. An important element of the project was also the increased employment.
The investments made resulted in the fact that entities dealing in the construction of gas pipelines in Poland could become the company’s clients to a greater extent.
