Increasing energy efficiency at the Brewery „Profesja” in Wrocław
Profesja is a Wrocław craft brewery that was founded by local beer enthusiasts in 2015. The hallmark of the Profesja is the presence of a dwarf’s image on bottle labels. The brewery is also characterized by interesting names of its beers, for example: „Alchemik” [eng. Alchemist], „Przekupka” [eng. Fishwife], „Inżynier” [eng. Engineer] or „Latarnik” [eng. Lighthouse keeper]. Several types of beers are produced here – there are bitter, sour and even smoked beers made on smoked malt. Profesja has been constantly evolving and has repeatedly benefited from EU support. One of the projects concerned the modernization of several areas of the brewery’s operation, and its main assumption was to increase energy efficiency in the enterprise. The investment that was worth PLN 400,000 mainly involved the modernization of the system for the production of technological heat and cold, the installation of an energy management system and the purchase of a modern, energy-saving cooler. The investment has improved production processes and reduced its costs. Due to the change of electricity to gas, the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere has also significantly decreased. A company like Profesja is an example of combining a hobby with a way of life and income. According to one of the brewery owners, this is the best thing that can happen to a man in his professional life.
