Fundamental and comprehensive thermal modernization of residential buildings in Raciborowice Górne belonging to the „Agat” Housing Cooperative in Złotoryja
Global warming and the emission of harmful gases and dust into the atmosphere are one of the greatest threats to the environment, as well as health and life of people. The reduction of these hazards can take place in various ways, for example through the use of renewable energy sources on a wider scale, the replacement of the communication fleet with more ecological vehicles or the implementation of comprehensive thermal modernization. For all of these actions, an EU subsidy can be obtained in the regional program for our voivodeship. The aim of thermal modernization is to protect the house against heat loss and to reduce the energy consumption needed to heat (or cool) the building and heat the water. It concerns not only old buildings, which are several dozen years old, but also newer ones, constructed a dozen years ago, when less stringent regulations were in force and ecology was not put first. During refurbishment on one of its multi-family residential estates in Raciborowice Górne, „Agat” Housing Cooperative from Złotoryja installed solar lamps and carried out thermal modernization of the buildings. The introduced changes have a real impact on the reduction of thermal energy losses and reduction of harmful gas and dust emissions. Moreover, the educational aspect was an important element of the project – the residents were trained how to properly manage energy to save it. During the renovation, architectural barriers that make life difficult for people with disabilities have also been eliminated.
