Comprehensive thermal modernization of public utility buildings in the Świdnica commune: Primary School in Pszenno and Primary School in Grodziszcze
The Świdnica commune has allocated a subsidy from the European Union for thermal modernization of two public utility buildings. Primary schools in Grodziszcze and Pszenno have been comprehensively insulated. The scope of works included, e.g.: replacement of all windows and exterior doors, renovation of ceilings and façade walls. Both buildings have been equipped with new heating systems. In Grodziszcze Primary School, a ground-source heat pump was installed, and photovoltaic panels were mounted on the roof, while in the Primary School in Pszenno, an air-source heat pump was installed. Apart from thermal modernization, renovation of grates, balustrades and stairs was also carried out in both buildings. The implementation of the investment will result in energy savings for both facilities. This will translate into a reduction in energy demand, reduction of CO2 emissions and an increase in the share of renewable energy in their energy balance. Consequently, energy costs will be reduced – lower heat loss means lower heating costs.
