perspective
2014 - 2020

Winter is a time when clean air is of particular importance to us. Its quality is mainly affected by pollutants from domestic heating furnaces and local coal-fired boiler-houses, but also by exhaust fumes from road transport. Therefore, all investments that help reduce air pollution are of great importance for the environment, but first of all for people.

The Municipal Transport Company in Świdnica, using EU funds, has responded to these challenges by purchasing low-emission buses. Nine modern vehicles run in the city, as well as in the neighbouring towns in the Municipalities of Świdnica and Marcinowice. Each meets the Euro 6 emission standards, an important European standard that has been in force since September 2015. It was developed to better protect the environment and reduce emissions of, among other things, carbon oxides. This norm establishes the permissible emission of harmful gases emitted by combustion vehicles.

Świdnica buses are comfortable and safe because the modern fleet provides many conveniences for passengers. Handrails with antibacterial coating, USB sockets to charge phones, air conditioning or electronic ticket-punchers – these are just some of them. Each vehicle is low-floor, which means that people with disabilities can get on them without any problems. The low floor is also an advantage for parents travelling with small children. Residents also appreciate that they are quiet.

This is not the first purchase of MPK in Świdnica. The first buses appeared on the streets a few years earlier, also thanks to the EU support, and all these actions improve the urban transport network in the city and the neighbouring municipalities.
