Adaptation of premises and purchase of equipment for the needs of the Museum of Theatre in Wrocław
The Henryk Tomaszewski Museum of Theater is the first institution in Poland devoted to the theater. Visiting this magical place, we can learn a lot about the theatrical life of Wrocław, and get familiar with the life and achievements of an outstanding artist and choreographer, as well as the creator of the Wrocław Pantomime Theater – Henryk Tomaszewski. As part of the permanent exhibition, his former flat was recreated here, in which we will see an impressive collection of dolls and toys. Visitors may look inside the drawers and cabinets with unusual souvenirs. The museum also houses the office of Professor Janusz Degler, a theater expert and an outstanding specialist in the work of Witkacy, along with his extensive library devoted to the theater, which was passed on by the Professor to the museum. Visitors may also get acquainted with the history of drama, as well as biographies of people associated with the theater, diaries, correspondence and theater magazines. A well-known and respected Wrocław photographer, Stefan Arczyński, also has his studio here. He devoted a lot of his works to the Wrocław Pantomime Theater. One can visit the darkroom and see its original equipment. Another unusual place in the museum is the so-called „Pracownia Paszczodzwięków”. It is a small multimedia stand where you can get to know ways of working with voice, experiment and check your diction. The author and supervisor of the workshop is Dr. Mirosław Oczkoś, currently the best dictionist in Poland, actor, film and TV director.
