Own business is not for the chosen ones
10 Lower Silesian poviats in which the level of unemployment is the largest in the voivodeship realized a project “Own business is not for the chosen ones”. The project focused on encouraging unemployed, professionally passive persons who are above 30 years old to set up and run their own business activity. With the support of European funds this was achieved by almost 200 Lower Silesian inhabitants.
Project participants with the best ideas for their own business (i.e. Polish-Italian translation agency) obtained 20,000 for the necessary equipment in order to launch their company, reimbursement of costs for Social Security contributions and training-consulting support for the first year of their activity. An unquestionable success of the project is the fact that the newly set up companies develop and thus, contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in the entire region.
Among the owners of 193 new micro enterprises, 125 reside in rural areas, 23 are disabled, 64 are long-term unemployed and 62 are above the age of 50.
