Construction and expansion of public transport infrastructure along with the purchase of a bus fleet in Grudziądz
The project aim was to develop public transport infrastructure and to purchase new vehicles. The project understands the infrastructure development as the construction of new public transport roads and lines as well as the reconstruction of existing public transport roads and lines. The project was beneficial not only to the city of Grudziądz, but also to its inhabitants and visiting tourists.
In addition, the project implementation enabled the reduction of exhaust gases and toxic substances emission into the environment. Until the project conclusion, it was a significant city issue, therefore, it became one of the reasons for the project implementation.
Project in numbers:
- Number of purchased units of passenger rolling stock in public municipal transport – 7 pcs.
- The capacity of the purchased passenger rolling stock in public municipal transport – 616 pcs.
- The total length of new or reconstructed public transport lines – 1,872 km
- Length of constructed bicycle paths – 0.106 km
- Length of supported bicycle infrastructure – 0.106 km
It is estimated that the project will increase the number of people using public transport and reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emission. The planned results of the project implementation are:
- Number of public transport services on reconstructed and new public transport lines 15,741,980 items / year
- Estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions of 76.69 tons CO2 equivalent per year
The project implementation was divided into several stages, and the schedule provided for their implementation in the following periods presents as follows:
- Documentation design: 07.2016 – 10.2017
- Feasibility study: 08.2017 – 10.2017
- Application for project co-financing: 08.2017 – 10.2017.
- Bus fleet purchase – 10.2018.
- Two fast charging stations purchase – 10.2018.
- Slow-charging devices purchase – 10.2018.
- Construction works: 04.2018 – 08.2020
- Investor’s supervision: 04.2018 – 09.2020
