Developing Methods for the comprehensive analysis of Biological and Chemical Contamination Dangerous for Consumer’s Health, Contained In Herbal Products
Awareness regarding the quality of food is steadily rising. Consumers want to know whether what they are eating is safe. A comprehensive method for the identification of biological and chemical contamination, which is dangerous to the human organism, has been developed by the company Biomibo under the direction of Professor Mieczysława Boguś. The purpose of the project co-financed with European funds is to develop a method of detecting biological contamination such as bacteria and parasite eggs and cysts, and also chemical contamination such as aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and pesticides. Thanks to the research conducted, it will be possible to develop a comprehensive method for appraising the quality of herbal products which are purchased due to the expected health benefits.
