Restoration of the Historical Beth Midrash House of Prayer in Maków Mazowiecki, Built in 1873, and Adapting it for Educational and Cultural Purposes and Tourism
Thanks to European funds, the building of the former Beth Midrash synagogue has been opened for use. It has been restored and will be used for cultural and artistic purposes. The project’s execution will contribute very positively to increasing the town’s attractiveness, both among its residents for whom it is a new centre of culture, and for those visiting. The project embraced conservation, restoration, and construction work. Essential installation work, covering water mains, drainage and electricity, was also carried out.
The building is to be a location of meetings, of cultural, educational and artistic events, as well as exhibitions, and the place’s character will reflect the town’s historical traditions. Commercial activities will also be conducted in the restored building – through the renting of office space and the organisation of cultural events. The project’s partners are: the Friends of Maków Region Society, and the ROSA organisation promoting activeness in society.
