THE URBAN REDEVELOPMENT OF THE OLDEST PART OF GĄBIN
The objectives of the urban redevelopment plan for the oldest part of Gąbin included restoration of its cultural prestige and the development of new socio-economic functions for the area.The project covered the renovation, reconstruction and extension of a historic building dating back to 1809, located at ul. Stary Rynek 6 and its adaptation to the needs of disabled people. A public space was designed inside the building to house such institution as: the Social Museum of Gąbin Land, the Gąbin Social Activity Incubator, the Social Integration Centre andMunicipal Library.Similar modernisation works were carried out in the building of the former district court at ul. Płocka 7.
The buildings, restored with EU funds, are a source of pride for the city of Gąbin and its residents.
