Shared Services Centre
Małopolska Region institutions situated in Tarnów area have joined forces to facilitate handling administrative cases and access to information for the citizens. How? Through the Shared Services Centre (SSC), an idea proposed by the city of Tarnów. Additionally, 21 partners joined the project – Tarnów district and the following municipalities: Bolesław, Ciężkowice, Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Gnojnik, Gręboszów, Iwkowa, Mędrzechów, Olesno, Pleśna, Radłów, Ryglice, Skrzyszów, Szczucin, Szczurowa, Szerzyny, Tuchów, Wierzchosławice, Wojnicz, Zakliczyn and Żabno. In result, the project was joined by 22 local government institutions and their subordinate units important for local life, such as schools, kindergartens or social assistance centres.
The creation of SSC was made possible by European Funds. Local government units gained access to modern, technologically advanced, remote IT systems which were unaffordable for them when acting alone. The project integrates local government platforms and streamlines the flow of information between offices and their departments. The centre also allows for secure data storage.
The SSC is also exceptionally beneficial for residents, allowing them to monitor the stage at which the specific office currently is with regards to their administrative case. Each resident, without leaving their home, can check the so-called resident’s clearance form – i.e., the current status of all their settlements with the specific office. This is going to allow them to find out whether they are in arrears with, for instance, rubbish disposal fees, land tax or perpetual usufruct. In addition, a mechanism of administrative information a day before/a day after has been introduced. This means that residents will receive a reminder when the due date approaches. If they fail to make the payment by the due date, they are going to receive a text message informing that the due date has passed.
