Construction of a Parking lot in the "park and drive" P&R system - Kurdwanów in Krakow
The growing problem of the city of Krakow is the problem of excessive congestion of communication routes, both inside the city and those directly leading to it. Urban transport is still an unattractive alternative to individual motorization, for residents and people commuting to work in the city from functional areas. Along with the increase in the number of individual vehicles, environmental pollution and the need for parking spaces are also increasing. In the economic sphere, this state of affairs generates excessive operating costs to be born by passenger car users, as well as additional costs associated with traffic accidents resulting from excessive congestion of communication routes.
The task concerned the construction of a parking lot in the P&R system in the immediate vicinity of the beltway on the Kurdwanów estate, along with access and infrastructure. The resulting car park has 170 parking spaces, including 5 for disabled people and 2 places equipped with distributors for powering vehicles with electric motors (available free of charge). The investment has not only contributed to savings in the operating costs of individual vehicles, it will also reduce the number of traffic accidents as a result of reduced traffic congestion and, as a result, the costs associated with traffic accidents.
