Development of the low-emission public transport system in the Sącz agglomeration
The aim of the project was to purchase and deliver 32 low-floor buses that meet the low emission standards. 24 maxi buses with 80 seats, 6 midi buses with 70 seats and 2 electric buses with 75 seats went to Nowy Sącz. What is more, the vehicles are equipped with Intelligent Transport Systems elements, allowing users to be better informed about the journey and ensuring safer and more coordinated use of the transport network. The reconstruction of the transfer junction used as the bus station at Kolejowa in Nowy Sącz is another task within the project. A station building and roofing for platforms were constructed there, and the station square, drainage systems, lighting and the entire infrastructure necessary for the project were rebuilt. At 2 intersections in the city, devices that give preference to public transport as part of the traffic management system were installed. As part of the project, a ParkRide car park was also built in Stary Sącz with 130 parking spaces, including 6 for disabled people and 4 spaces for maxi buses and medium buses. A building with a waiting room and a bicycle storage room was also constructed. The nearby intersection has been rebuilt in order to improve communication in the immediate vicinity of the car park.
