perspective
2014 - 2020

The town and the health resort municipality of Muszyna, as well as the entire Sącz subregion, are perceived on the map of the Malopolska Region as areas with a very high tourist potential. Muszyna is on the 17th place in the existing ranking of the most attractive places in the Malopolska Region.

The implementation of the project contributed to the increase of tourist traffic in Muszyna and the expansion of the attractiveness of the tourist offer in the region. The project concerned the creation of a new local 32.7 km-long bicycle trail running through the towns of the Muszyna municipality (Żegiestów, Milik, Szczawnik, Złockie, Jastrzębik and Muszyna). The trail connects directly with the EuroVelo11 route in Milik, Żegiestów and Muszyna. It is marked with uniform signs, equipped with information devices and parking spaces for rest. They will provide tourists with a safe and relaxed route. As part of the project, the existing forest roads, not intended for general traffic until now, were rebuilt and renovated. The new bicycle trail is two-way, with a width of 2.50 m to 4.0 m. Pedestrians can also use it. Along the route, 13 parking spaces have been arranged, equipped with sheds, bicycle stands, benches, tables, litter bins, information boards and one info kiosk. Information brochures and maps of 10,000 copies, as well as an application for the kiosk, were created about the new bicycle route.

The implementation of the project will have a positive impact on the accessibility to areas that are tourist attractions of the municipality and areas of natural value. They include the Mineral water springs Kazimierz in Milik, Springs behind the Orthoodox Church in Szczawnik, Mofeta (volcanic escalation, carbon dioxide-containing fumes) and the Springs of St. Lucas in Jastrzębik, Anna Springs and Milusia and Antoni Mineral Water Pump Room in Muszyna.
