Adaptation of the Pavilion at Polana Lea in Kraków for the Ecological Education Center
The project involved the modernization of the Okocim Pavilion building (a historic building built in 1934 by Baron Antoni Jan Götz-Okocimski) and the development of the surrounding area in order to adapt it to the needs of the Ecological Education Center. The created rooms will be used to organize lectures and workshops on ecological issues in various fields, from spatial planning of the city and the surrounding area, transport and communication, environmental threats, promotion of activities aimed at environmental protection and revitalization, to ecological and nature education for children, adolescents and adults. The newly created laboratories will be dedicated to specialized training for selected groups of interested parties. The Ecological Education Center is a facility with a modern approach; and participants of classes conducted by them, apart from theoretical knowledge, can acquire practical skills not only in the field of increasing awareness and knowledge of the local and regional natural environment, shaping sensitivity to the beauty of nature and landscape, climate change and related problems, but also raising awareness of healthy eating, local agricultural products, ecology in urban and rural environments. In this way, shaping conscious consumer attitudes will contribute to the promotion and ecological development of local agriculture, being extremely important for maintaining the natural and landscape values of the environment in which we operate.
