Oświęcim Meeting Space - development of the area of the Park of Reconciliation of Nations in Oświęcim (stage I)
The investment was part of a larger project entitled “Oświęcimska Przestrzeń Spotkań” [Oświęcim Meeting Space] and consisted in the development of approx. 14 ha of undeveloped green area at Kamieniec Street in Oświęcim. A park with recreational and cultural functions was created here. Its location in the immediate vicinity of the Soła river, and on the northern side with the area of ecological use “Łęg – Kamieniec”, makes this place attractive in terms of nature and landscape. New land development allowed to create a place for rest and passive recreation for both residents and tourists. Paths have been led freely, and their course has been adapted to the topography and the existing walking and cycling routes. On the outskirts of the investment, there are 3 meeting places for residents and tourists, including the entrance square. There is space for the assembly of a larger stage or tents at the entrance square. The nearby parking lot at Łęgowa Street was rebuilt and enlarged with additional spaces. It will be an important role of the Park to enable the organization of various cultural events on the premises, with the additional use of the outdoor stage.
