Construction of a viewing tower in the John Paul II Garden in Inwałd
Thanks to the support of European Funds, a 22-meter observation tower was built in Inwałd Park, from which there is a view of the John Paul II Garden. After climbing 96 stairs or using the elevator, you can admire the world’s largest portrait of the Polish Pope, which was “painted” using 20,000 trees, bushes and flowers and many tons of stones, gravel and aggregate. This 3-hectare work also depicts the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican and the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wadowice.
Anyone who would like to take a walk among the plants that create this extraordinary image can enjoy eight kilometres of alleys! During the walk, you can explore the path to the holiness of John Paul II and learn interesting facts from his life.
Interestingly, from the top of the observation tower – in good weather – there is a beautiful view of the panorama of the Beskid Mały Mountains.
