Expansion of the tourist and recreational offer on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the foundation of Nowy Wiśnicz by construction of the park at the foot of the Kmita and Lubomirski Castle
A resting place for residents and tourists was created in 2019 by the Kmita and Lubomirski Castle in Nowy Wiśnicz. The history of the park is related to the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the location of Nowy Wiśnicz held in 2016. The idea of creating a commemorative object that would serve the local community as well as become a tourist attraction was established on that day.
The 400th anniversary park was created on an area of approximately 3.21 hectares under EU co-financing. Hardening the land made it possible to build walking paths, install lighting, benches and tables with seats for playing chess. The entire area is monitored by CCTV.
The park’s attraction includes a didactic path with models of castles and fortresses recreated to match historical facts. Information boards are located next to each of the miniatures, allowing visitors to learn about the history and curiosities about the monument. The park space also hosts a forest amphitheatre, which allows the organisation of open-air events.
