Gates of Beskid Mały - construction and expansion of tourist and recreational infrastructure in the Municipal Park in Wadowice
The City Park in Wadowice was established at the beginning of the 20th century on the hill dominating the west-south side of the city, called Górnica. The care of the area was then entrusted to the Society for Beautifying the City of Wadowice and the Surrounding Area.
The interwar period was the time of the greatest prosperity of the park. The inhabitants of Wadowice spent pleasant moments at festivals, games and theatrical performances, which were organized in the park space. The post-war years were not so kind to this place and over time the park gradually deteriorated. It was not until the 1990s that the restoration of its former glory began.
The current condition of the park in Wadowice is the result of the modernization, which was carried out with the help of EU funds in 2018-2019. At that time, the some characteristic buildings of this place were renovated: the former scout house, the Adam Mickiewicz mound, gazebos, tennis courts, that were adapted for winter periods to the function of a municipal ice rink. A new amphitheater stage has been created, thanks to which the park is again teeming with cultural life. There are zones for active people: an outdoor gym, climbing walls and a street workout park for physical exercises using the weight of your own body. The youngest ones gained new playgrounds.
