Miechów bypass
The construction of the northern bypass of Miechów was necessary to divert the vehicle traffic to Silesia and back away from the city center. Thanks to the investment, motorists can reach their destination safely and faster, and the residents have gained peace and quiet.
The bypass is a two-lane road, 7 m wide and just over 8 km long. It begins at the intersection of Sienkiewicza Street with the road towards Podmiejska Wola and Charsznica. From here it runs near Zagorzyce and Siedliska, and then crosses the national road No. 7. Next, it runs along the outskirts of Strzeżów I, and then turns sharply to Bukowska Wola, ending at the intersection with DW 783.
Four roundabouts have been designed along the Miechów bypass to improve road capacity. The first ones were built at the beginning and end of the bypass (intersections with provincial road No. 783), the next ones at the intersection with the national road No. 7, and the last ones at the intersection with the district road No. 1182K leading from Miechów towards Sędziszów.
As part of the investment, a bridge over the Cicha River and a viaduct over the railway tracks were built. There were also sidewalks, bus bays, protective barriers and service roads. Also, special animal crossings and several farm crossings were made.
