Establishment of the Małopolska Center of Paediatrics and Comprehensive Treatment of Children with FASD through the reconstruction of the facility of the St. Louis Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital named in Krakow at 2 Strzelecka Street
European Funds take care of the youngest patients! The Małopolska Center of Paediatrics and Comprehensive Treatment of Children with FASD (alcohol-related developmental disorders) was established in the St. Louis Provincial Specialist Children’s Hospital in Krakow.
The historic, 145-year-old hospital building in the center of Krakow has been thoroughly modernized and gained an additional storey. New departments were created, including anesthesiology and intensive care, as well as pediatric surgery and an operating theater. Thanks to modern medical equipment, the facility can perform operations in the field of general surgery, as well as orthopedics and laryngology.
Hospitalized patients now have at their disposal mostly single and double rooms with comfortable beds, armchairs for parents, each with its own toilet and shower. The duty rooms of doctors and nurses have also been renovated.
The health map of Małopolska also includes – the only one in the country – center for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of children with FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorders), which is an integral part of St. Louis Hospital.
