Improving the quality and effectiveness of cancer treatment at the St. Luke Provincial Hospital SP ZOZ in Tarnów through investments in the infrastructure of the Clinical Oncology Department with the Chemotherapy Unit, the Laboratory Diagnostics Department and the Diagnostic Imaging Department, as well as the purchase of a digital mammograph.
The services provided by the hospital are used by the inhabitants of Tarnów and the Tarnów poviat. A large group of recipients are also residents of the Brześć and Dąbrowa poviats. In total, around 500,000 inhabitants were looked after. Analyzes have shown that the Malopolska area in the forecast until 2029 assumes a significant increase in the number of cases of cancer.
The investment included the reconstruction of the clinical oncology ward with the chemotherapy subdivision, laboratory rooms and radiological diagnostics rooms, and the purchase of a digital mammogram. The activities were aimed at reducing the waiting time for health services to a minimum.
As a result of the investment, the ward can receive a larger number of people in a shorter time, while offering a high level of cancer diagnosis. Improving the conditions of oncological treatment, reducing the waiting time for examinations, increasing the quality and effectiveness of breast cancer diagnostics by purchasing a digital mammograph, as well as increasing the number of examinations and shortening their duration are facilities that currently support patient treatment.
