Remont i adaptacja na cele kulturowe zabytkowego kompleksu klasztornego w Szczuczynie z przeznaczeniem na centrum muzealno - warsztatowe
The brick church dedicated to the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the monastery and the college were built in 1701-1707 by Stanisław Antoni Szczuka. It was from the foundation of Jan Sobieski in memory of the victory at Vienna. From 1805, when the monastery was abandoned by the Piarist Order, the church in Szczuczyn served as a branch church in the Wąsosz parish. After establishing the parish in Szczuczyn, it became a parish church. The building of the former monastery and the church are entered in the register of monuments.
Until 1991, part of the rooms in the former monastery were occupied by school. Currently, thanks to European Funds, a Museum and Workshop Centre has been established in part of the monastery. The Centre presents the rich history and tradition of the Szczuczyn region.
As part of the project, the parish renovated and arranged the educational and exhibition space. The aim of this investment is to increase the cultural activity of the inhabitants and to present local culture and history to visitors. The centre was opened to visitors in October 2019.
