Installations of renewable energy systems in municipalities belonging to the Union of Municipalities of the Vistula River Basin
Renewable energy sources (RES) are the most effective method of air protection against pollution, including smog. Among all RES, solar energy generation is one of the most beneficial. Solar collectors can produce heat from it and photovoltaic installations enable the production of electricity.
Under the project, 630 solar collector installations, 475 photovoltaic installations, 5 heat pumps for water heating and 2 biomass boilers were installed in residential buildings in eight municipalities of the region: Brzyska, Dębowiec, Jodłowa, Kołaczyce, Krempna, Osiek Jasielski, Skołyszyn, Tarnowiec.
The benefits of the project are manifold. Reduction of the emission of pollutants into the air contributes to the improvement of life and protection of areas valuable in terms of nature and tourism. Electricity charges are lower. The cooperation of municipalities under the umbrella of the Association allows for coordination of activities, adoption of coherent assumptions and an effective system of monitoring results and sustainability. Such an approach facilitates obtaining funding and proper implementation of projects.
