Support for RES development in the ROF - umbrella project
The subject of the project is the construction and start-up of 2,828 new photovoltaic installations intended for use by households in municipalities included in the Rzeszów Functional Area. The project will include the construction of photovoltaic installations used to convert solar energy into electricity with a capacity of not less than 3 kW each.
The main objective of the project is to increase the share of production and use of electricity from renewable energy sources (photovoltaic installations) installed in the Rzeszów Functional Area. It is to be achieved through specific objectives: installation and start-up of photovoltaic installations allowing residents to obtain financial savings from using energy for their own residential buildings; modernization of energy production process resulting in reduction of harmful gas and dust emissions to the atmosphere and promoting the installation of renewable energy sources in terms of economic and social benefits for residents, in particular by reducing electricity costs and emissions of harmful substances to the atmosphere.
The product of the project will be 2,828 newly built electricity generation units with a total installed capacity of 8.40 MWe. The project will enable annual electricity production of 6,384 MWh/year. The project will also result in an estimated decrease in greenhouse gas emissions of 5094.38 tons of CO2 equivalent/year. The project is ready for implementation and has no administrative barriers that would threaten its execution. Implementation of the project is included in the Low-Emission Economy Plan for the ROF area.
