Ropa - Stage 1 - construction of the left embankment of the Ropa river in the area of Trzcinica, commune Jasło and Przysieki, Siedliska Sławęcińskie, Pusta Wola, commune of Skołyszyn, voivodeship Podkarpackie Province
The project consists of the construction of flood embankments in the Jasło and Skołyszyn communes in the Jasło poviat, with a total length of: 6.22 km, including: the length of the left embankment of the Ropa river, 4.0 km long, backwater embankments along the Młynówka stream, length: 1, 90 km, band embankments around the sewage treatment plant in Przysieki, 0.32 km long. The project also provides for the construction of devices functionally related to flood embankments, i.e. embankment culverts, flood protection roads and embankment crossings.
The main goal of the project is to improve flood safety in the Ropa river valley by continuing the construction of flood embankments.
Specific objectives of the project, including long-term socio-economic benefits:
- protection against the effects of floods,
- equipping the Wisłoka tributaries (in this case the Ropa river) with high-quality flood embankments,
- improvement of the living conditions and existence of the inhabitants of the area covered by the project and the neighboring areas,
- protection of nature against degradation and damage caused by floods, protection of the natural environment of river valleys,
- creating optimal conditions for the socio-economic development of the region,
- improving the conditions for the functioning of economic activities in the area covered by the project,
- stopping the periphery process of the area as a result of the flood risk,
- improvement of the investment attractiveness of the area of Jasło and Skołyszyn communes,
- achieving sustainable development between the natural and economic environment and the living environment of the population
- compliance with the requirements of EU Directives.
The effects of the project will minimize or completely eliminate the following flood effects:
- loss of people,
- losses in the health of residents,
- irreversible destruction and degradation of the natural environment,
- losses in the property of persons and business entities,
- losses in public property,
- local authorities incurring high costs to rebuild damaged public property.
