Implementing an integrated system for reduction of low emissions as part of the transport system within the Sanok-Lesko FUA
The building of the multimodal station in Sanok rivets attention from afar with its original construction – a glazed facade with intersecting aluminium profiles covered with a light wood veneer. At night, various patterns and colours can be displayed on the facade thanks to a special system of LED lamps. In the interior, steel and raw concrete prevail. The two storeys of the station house waiting rooms, ticket offices, office areas, catering facilities and business premises, a tourist information point and luggage lockers. The station is also provided with an escalator. The building is energy efficient, as it is heated with a system combining gas heat pumps and photovoltaic modules installed on bus shelters.
Apart from the construction, it is worth mentioning the solutions which enable passengers to easily and comfortably change between different means of transport. The historic train station situated nearby can be reached using a built-up platform running over the tracks. All the carriers operating in Sanok and the Sanok-Lesko Functional Urban Area, which so far have been using various places scattered all over the town, have their stops here. Next to the station, there is a bike shelter and an area where minor repairs can be carried out. ‘Investments are the key element of establishing a uniform, effective and safe system of passenger transport in Sanok and its vicinity.
The project also enabled the construction of public transport routes with a length of 43 km. Driver training grounds, bus stops, an urban bus stop, a taxi rank and a car park for passenger cars were built. Moreover, 11 low emission buses were bought, and two bike&ride and park&ride facilities with 155 parking places were created.
