Regional Centre for Southern Podkarpacie Women and Child - highly specialized health care
The aim of the project was to counteract negative demographic trends through the development of mother and child care, therefore in the hospital in Krosno one of the most modern Regional Centre of Southern Podkarpacie “Woman and Child” of European standard was created. The Centre guarantees education related to family planning, maternal and child care, transport of infants with life threatening infants from other hospitals to the Neonatal Ward with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Krosno or to specialist hospitals outside the voivodeship, maternal and child care until the child reaches the age of majority, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of laryngological, neurological, cardiac, rheumatological, ophthalmic and other diseases. The project included the reconstruction of the Birth Trail with Caesarean section, Gynaecological and Obstetrics Department with a section of Pregnancy Pathology, Neonatal Department with Intensive Neonatal Therapy Division, Children’s Department with an observation section, rooms of the Image Diagnostics Department for a modern mammograph, purchase of a neonatal ambulance, purchase of highly specialized medical equipment that would enable the achievement of the project objectives and would have a new functionality in relation to the current state. Within the framework of the project, an IT system was purchased. The project included improvements for the disabled.
