Social and Vocational Activation System in Gdynia
Project objective
Increase of the employment rate among people in or at risk of poverty and social exclusion.
Project Participants
There are 698 people receiving help, among them:
- Individuals and families at risk of poverty and social exclusion, i.e. individuals or families who are the recipients of the social benefits, as stipulated by the Social Welfare Act of 12 March 2004, and who satisfy at least one of the conditions set in item 7 of the Act
- Persons referred to in art. 1 pt. 2 of the Social Employment Act of 13 June 2003
- Persons with disabilities, as defined in the Social and Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled People Act of 27 August 1997, as well as people with psychological disorders as defined in the Mental Health Act of 19 August
- Individuals registered in Job Centres as stipulated by Employment Promotion and Job Market Institutions Act of 20 April 2004
- Homeless persons, or people unbale to access social housing
- Individuals registered with Food Programmes cofounded by the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived – FEAD
- Young people placed in in youth care centres and youth therapy centres as defined in the Education Act of 7 September 1991
- Residents of the urban regeneration areas in Gdynia.
To be able to use the specialist assistance the clients must meet one of the following three formal criteria:
- be registered in Job Centre
- be a user of services of the Municipal Welfare Centre
- hold a certificate of disability
Project offers
Three assistance routes by Project Partners:
Social Innovation Lab – Route 1. Social activation and social inclusion (recruitment, selection of the appropriate vocational reintegration route, forming social networks, promoting and strengthening partnerships; supporting volunteers as a method of social activation and prevention of social exclusion; workshops for the project participants. Route 2. Training to improve or learn new vocational skills: certified computer literacy courses (ECDL), certified software testing courses (ISTQB), driver’s licence courses, basic digital graphic design courses, tailor-made course to meet the participants needs.
Fundacja Gospodarcza – the route of the intensified socio-vocational support (individual vocational training, vocational activation workshops; providing assistance to the project participants; individual psychological support; personal development support groups; individual specialist support, including legal help, medical consultations, computer courses, job seeking support, vocational courses, work placement)
Stowarzyszenie Przyjaciół Integracji – Specialist support route for people with disabilities, including social counselling; independent personal counselling, individual and group psychological support, job seeking support, vocational support; work placement; disabled persons assistants, volunteering opportunities; Towarzystwo Pomocy im. Św. Brata Alberta Centrum Integracji Społecznej w Gdyni: setting up the Centre for Social Integration; individual specialised assistance, vocational advice, social support and psychological counselling; integration activities, general education, internal and external vocational workshops, vocational training.
