Gdynia odNowa: Urban Regeneration of Oksywie district
Project Objective
The objective of this project is a complex regeneration of the region of the former village of Oksywie, encompassing an area of c. 193 ha, with Dickamana and Smidowicza Streets, with population of approx. 2500 inhabitants. The urban renewal strategy of this area had been individually specified in the Municipal Regeneration Programme.
The following investments have been planned within this project:
- Establishing a community centre at 49 Śmidowicza Street, which will be offering a range of social services
- Creating a pedestrianised passage and wooded park between Bosmańska and Żeglarzy Streets.
- Refurbishing works at 52 Płk. Dąbka Street.
- Building Makowskiego Street with a passage to Arciszewskich Street, building a pedestrian pavement along Arciszewskich Street
- Development of the public space at Arciszewskich Street
- Reconstruction of roads in the centre of the former village of Oksywie
- Building football pitches in the neighbourhood of the V LO hight school
- Development of Osada Rybacka area
- Modernising selected elements of the common areas of the council buildings
- Rebuilding and/ or refurbishing of the common areas of the buildings belonging to the Partner Housing Associations.
The above investments will be caried out in close cooperation with the resident. The residents will able to submit their comments, postulates and suggestions at a dedicated consultation point. NGOs will also be invited.
This project is closely correlated with “Gdynia odNowa: Development of social services for the community of Oksywie” co-financed by the European Social Fund under the Regional Programme of the Pomeranian Voivodeship for 2014-2020.
