The beneficiary is a national leader among manufacturers of industrial fixtures used in water supply, irrigation systems, sewage treatment plants, water purification plants, gas equipment and stations, intermediate pumping stations and fire prevention systems. Their business is carried out at two plants – a foundry in Skołyszyn and a machining plant in Przysieki. Jafar is among the most modern companies in Poland, and is a major supplier on foreign markets. It is constantly introducing innovative solutions, including in the field of making fittings watertight, which above all increases their lifetime, resistance to corrosion and abrasion, and makes it possible to use them for many conveyance systems.

The project made us of the results of R&D work in the field of surface engineering technology – hardfacing, i.e. using welding techniques to apply material with different parameters to the surface of iron sockets. This enabled the production of an innovative socket for an eccentric choke valve, which is a vital component of a conveyance system.

Choke valves are exposed to the effects of various factors which could result in them losing their watertightness and functionality. Lack of watertightness results from using sockets with low resistance parameters. The project involved expanding the factory creating conditions for manufacturing innovative products, including the new generation of eccentric choke valves with improved operating/usage parameters.

Implementing the project enabled deficiencies and waste to be reduced, noise levels to be cut at workstations, comfort of work to be increased thanks to automation, and quality control processes to be shortened considerably. The most important effect, though, is the significant reduction in failure rates for pipelines.
