Modernization of the NCK auditorium in order to adapt the existing infrastructure to the new program
The Nowa Huta Culture Center (NCK) is trying to develop its offer taking into account the needs of recipients – understood not only as consumers but also culture creators. The Center is the venue for the implementation of two annual dance festivals: ‘Spacer Contemporary Dance Festival’ and ‘BalletOFFestival’. They are slowly gaining recognition and brand among artists and choreographers. Their implementation showed the potential of such projects, while also showing the need for creating appropriate infrastructure facilities.
The implementation of the presented project has largely contributed to the dynamic development of the facility’s operations. The project included the modernization of their auditorium, thanks to which it became a modern and attractive place on the map of the Malopolska Region. The NCK’s position among Krakow’s cultural institutions was strengthened, and it became a leading impresario stage in Nowa Huta.
The implementation of the project is a real enrichment of the offer, because the introduction of new technologies (large-format projections, lighting, sound system, camera preview) and aestheticization of the room allowed to present a better, more demanding repertoire and the modernization of the floor allowed space to dance in various forms. Completed works allowed to increase the quality of the presented events, increased the comfort of viewers, but also improved the working conditions of service and artists performing on stage.
