Increased availability of highly specialized medical services in the Malopolska Region through the execution of construction works and equipment of the Klara Jelska "Odrodzenie" Specialist Hospital for Lung Diseases in Zakopane.
In the Malopolska Region, lung cancers were the most common cause of cancer deaths (21.7%). A significant concentration of services in one area was observed at the Dr. O. Sokołowski Independent Public Specialized Hospital for Lung Diseases – 65% of patients were treated in the field of chest surgery. The required technical and sanitary conditions were met through the implementation of the project. Now it will be possible to continue increasing the quality of diagnostics and treatment – especially with respect to cancer.
The aim of the project was the construction, extension and reconstruction of an existing hospital building together with the reconstruction and extension of the existing oxygen plant building and associated facilities such as access and access, fire paths and parking spaces with paved surface. What is more, the energy network and power connections, sanitary and storm sewage system were rebuilt, and medical gas and external lighting network connected.
