Construction of the Municipal Waste Collection Point in Błażowa
In Błażowa a modern Selective Collection Point of Municipal Waste (PSZOK) has been established, which is also available for the residents of the neighboring commune of Lubenia. It offers free of charge the following services: plastics, glass, metal, paper and cardboard, green waste, bulky waste, used electrical and electronic equipment as well as hazardous waste (e.g. paints, adhesives, thermometers, lamps, light bulbs). Appropriate containers and bins were bought to collect them. Some of them were placed in a newly built hall. The new manoeuvring area facilitates transport and sorting of materials to be recovered. The point has been fenced off with an acoustic screen, which significantly reduces the noise entering the area of adjacent properties. The project has contributed to increasing the residents’ awareness of how to deal with waste and, consequently, to their active environmental activities.
The original solution is to create a place where the employees who purchased power tools under the project repair e.g. old furniture, restoring its usable qualities. The construction of the facility made it possible to cover more people with the selective waste collection program and, as a result, to recover more recyclable waste.
