CelVet is a Polish company conducting research into innovative veterinary drugs and cosmetics for animals, based on herbs and natural plant extracts.

The project concerned the development of an innovative drug used  in therapy for general bacterial conditions in cats and dogs. The main objective was to develop a gel formula for the drug, which would be stable, very simple to administer and simultaneously not noticeable for the cat or dog.

The final quantitative/qualitative composition of the drug was determined as part of the project, and it was produced in its ready form. The manufacturing technology was also ascertained and research was carried out into the stability of the active substance. In the manufactured form of the drug, an objectively durable active substance has been obtained which enables easy adaptation of the dosage to patients of different weights. Developing a formula with added flavouring provided sensory qualities which enable the drug to be accepted by an animal without trouble.

Thanks to this project, the drug is ready for pre-clinical and clinical trials, and then for registration as a medicinal product and launching on the Polish market, then on European Union markets.

CELAMOX is an innovative drug for cats and dogs which combines amoxycillin and clavulanic acid in the form of an oral oil-gel without the addition of water. The new form of administering it will completely transform the veterinary medicine market. In contrast to the available veterinary drugs and preparations for injection, our product is easy to use, effective and stable. As a result, animals will be healthier, and owners and vets will feel experience stress and struggling when administering medicines, particularly to cats, which often cause bodily damage when traditional preparations are being applied,” said Monika Marczak, veterinarian and CelVet representative.
