Restoration of the morphological patency of the Noteć River from Pakość to Krostków.
The project will consist in making the Noteć River clear for aquatic organisms by building fish passes on hydrotechnical facilities administered by PGW Woda Polskie – Regional Water Management Authority in Bydgoszcz. The barrages in Pakość, Łabiszyn, Dębinek, Stara Noteć Rynarzewska, Nakło Zachód and Gromadno do not have passages for fish, thus preventing aquatic organisms from migrating up and down the river. Fish passes will enable the migration of fish (especially eel) and other aquatic species, and thus restore the so-called the biological continuity of the river. The fish passes will be made of natural materials (stones, gravel, sand) in the form of a bypass-channel with consecutive partitions and pools. As a result, migration corridors with different water velocities will be created, enabling two-way movement of aquatic organisms. Over time, fish passes will begin to function as a natural branch of the river. As a result of the construction of fish passes, a 108 km long waterway will be cleared, including over 87 km of ecological corridors.
Verification of the achievement of the ecological effect will take place by monitoring the devices at the end of the works and during the project durability period.PRrotected species: European eel, as well as asp and other representatives of aquatic fauna.
RANGE: voiv. Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship
