Program zagospodarowania terenów nabrzeży rzeki Oławy we Wrocławiu
Thanks to the support of the EU funds, the Wrocław areas of the Oława river banks have changed beyond recognition. The revitalization of the Oławskie Suburbs and, more precisely, the left river bank between the Oławski and Rakowiecki bridges has made this area, neglected and forgotten in the past, a thriving and bustling with life hotspot of the city. The riverbank areas are naturally precious as one may encounter here a true richness of flora and fauna species – herons, swans, beavers and even water turtles. A crucial aspect in the course of forming the new layout of the space was the focus on preserving the natural and environmental character of this area.
Illuminated walking-cycling paths were created along the river as well as leisure spots, playgrounds for children and canoeing platforms, a roller track, a beach and terraces as well as viewing spots. We will be able to rest and take a closer look at the nature surrounding us on a wooden deck. The new space has been enhanced by new green plants; trees, bushes, perennials, bedding grass, sedges and flowers have been planted.
The inhabitants of Wrocław have gained a new, green place, ideal for walking, resting and practicing sport as well as playing for the children.
