perspective
2014 - 2020

Over 730 teenagers from twelve Lower Silesian school-educational facilities participated in the EU project “Integrated”. Its attendees were able to join the so-called therapeutic classes, among others, as well as courses assisting them in gaining professional qualifications or competence trainings. All that so the participants could gain or strengthen such skills that allow them to function in the society once their stay at the facility is over. It is crucial for them to start a new chapter of their life, without any protective umbrella such as care, support and real assistance of qualified personnel from such facilities.  Ultimately – and most importantly – for them to become resourceful and socially smart.

Surely classes in which they participated for two years were of assistance in this regard. And the programme was quite extensive. One might note: theatre, musical and dance animations, training related to running of one’s own household and managing own budget, learning savoir vivre in everyday life, counselling in the scope of preventing additions (among others, psychoactive substances and internet), visits to Lower Silesian workplaces, the art of auto presentation and psychological therapies. Moreover, individual school-educational centres purchased specialistic equipment and didactic aids that were necessary in the whole process.

The project was realized in partnership with 11 Lower Silesian self-governments: Lower Silesian voivodeship, Jelenia Góra, Legnica, Wrocław and poviats: głogowski, górowski, oleśnicki, średzki, lwówecki, ząbkowicki and jaworski.

TASKS REALIZED IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROJECT “INTEGRATED”Social:

  • Specialist psychological counselling in the scope of preventing addictions (including, among others, psychoactive substances, the internet, cyberviolence etc.);
  • training in the scope of principles of social coexistence – savoir vivre in everyday life (including: one-day field-mass classes, i.e. Cinema, theatre, museum, open-air exhibitions, monument, restaurant etc., one-day classes that strengthen civil attitudes – visit in: Lower Silesian Sejmik, Voivodeship Office, City Hall of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Municipal Office and Poviat Office as well as learning the scope of competencies and principles of functioning of governmental administration in the area and on individual levels of self-government administration);
  • training in the scope of alternative spending free time – carrying out own household;
  • local animation of theatre nature;
  • local animation of musical nature;
  • Local animation of dance nature.

Vocational:

  • professional counselling (including: one-day classes in work facilities combined with launching and presenting production lines and relevant meetings with employees);
  • Courses and trainings equipping in qualifications or professional competencies which will be used for obtaining employment.

Educational:

  • training in the scope of managing own household budget and saving (including one-day classes at PKO SA bank in the scope of carrying out own saving-loan economy);
  • training necessary on the labour market in the scope of auto presentation.

Health:

  • psychological therapy in the form of hippo therapeutic classes
  • psychological therapy in the form of zootherapeutic classes
  • Psychological therapy in the form of art-therapeutic classes
  • Psychological therapy in the form of flower-therapeutic classes with photography elements.

Through the planned 14 forms of support the project will contribute and enable obtaining by its participants of social and professional skills that will allow them to function in a society once their stay relatively normally in the facility is over. It is assumed that through participation in the project, these people will obtain or strengthen their social competencies, social-professional resourcefulness, independence and social activity. Moreover, thanks to participation in the project these persons might find it easier to begin the new chapter in their life after leaving the facility, facing the loss of the so-called “protective umbrella” which is the care, support and understanding of qualified personnel from these facilities. For its pupils and graduates such classes as therapeutic classes, competence trainings, professional courses targeted at assisting them in gaining new professional qualifications, spending free time or managing their own budget are organized. New equipment and didactic tools.

The project “Integrated” is targeted at granting support for the social-professional integration to 732 persons at threat of poverty and social exclusion. The project participants are thus the pupils and graduates of 12 Lower Silesian special school-educational facilities, of whom 66.4% are persons at the age group above 18 while the remaining 33.6% are persons at the age of 13-18. The project is realized for the period of 24 months – from 1 December 2018 until 30 November 2020. The need to realize the project stems, above all, from the specificity of the target group which is exposed to a significant risk of social-professional exclusion due to several aspects:

  • social (total lack or significantly limited ability to function in a society on a daily basis);
  • emotional (disorders in emotional scopes related to having disabilities and the development disfunctions related to them);
  • professional (lack of skills enabling finding work on the labour market and a total lack of learnt competencies and professional skills or lack of gained professional qualifications);
  • psychological (lack of motivation and faith in one’s strength and a feeling of being „different” and often worse).

Through the planned 14 forms of support the project will contribute and enable obtaining by its participants of social and professional skills that will allow them to function in a society once their stay relatively normally in the facility is over. It is assumed that through participation in the project, these people will obtain or strengthen their social competencies, social-professional resourcefulness, independence and social activity.Moreover, thanks to participation in the project these persons might find it easier to begin the new chapter in their life after leaving the facility, facing the loss of the so-called “protective umbrella” which is the care, support and understanding of qualified personnel from these facilities.The project is realized in partnership by 11 Lower Silesian units of the territorial self-government (Self-government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, 3 municipalities: Jelenia Góra, Legnica and Wrocław and 7 poviats: Głogowski, Górowski, Jaworski, Lwówecki, Oleśnicki, Średzki and Ząbkowicki), which are the organs that supervise 12 largest Special School-Educational Facilities from which the target group will originate.

The voivodeship self-government supports the disabled. The project “Integrated” has just been launched. Its goal is to support and limit social exclusion and poverty among the pupils of school-educational facilities in Lower Silesia. The project will be realized in 12 facilities in the area of the whole voivodeship. The total value of the project will amount to PLN 13.55 million.

The total of 732 pupils will participate in the project “Integrated”. It is realized by the Marshal Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in partnership with ten self-governments (poviats:  głogowski, górowski,  jaworski, lwówecki, oleśnicki, średzki, ząbkowicki, the city of Jelenia Góra, the city of Legnica and the city of Wrocław).

Today, vice-marshal Marcin Krzyżanowski, along with Andrzej Jaroch, Chairman of the Sejmik of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, met with the group of pupils from the Special School-Educational Centre in Środa Śląska.

The visit at the Marshal Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship was an opportunity for young people to take a closer look at the competencies and principles of functioning of both local state administration and individual levels of self-government administration (voivodeship, poviat and municipal).

− Lower Silesia has for years been recognizing the need to support social integration of the disabled, which has resulted in a number of already realized projects. Furthermore, we dedicate one of the priority axes within ROP for 2014-2020 (axis 9) for social inclusion and active integration – notes Marshal Cezary Przybylski.

The project covers in total the realization of 14 conceptual actions, including 6 of social nature, 2 of professional nature, 2 of educational nature and 4 of health-related nature.

− The project participants, thanks to attending individual forms of support, will obtain or expand their basic competencies necessary for their daily functioning in the social and public life. What is more, professionally-passive persons who continue to realize the school obligation or the obligation of studying may plan their further professional path – adds the vice-marshal Marcin Krzyżanowski.

− It is the self-government’s job to look after your future. We hope that the project “Integrated” will help you prepare to undertake professional work – says Andrzej Jaroch, Chairman of the Sejmik of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship during a meeting with the youth.

The project will be realized until the end of November 2020. The total value of it will be PLN 13.65 million (85% – European Social Fund, 10% state budget, 5% own input – Self-government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and each of the partners).
