Activating the disabled persons
Courses, trainings and internships for employers and, in certain cases, even permanent employment – such assistance what at the disposal of the inhabitants of Legnica and the Złotoryja and Legnica poviats. The UE project “Activating the disabled persons” was directed towards persons with disabilities who encounter obstacles in gaining professional qualifications and finding themselves within the labour market. In addition, such persons frequently struggle with various types of health issues and deficiencies of psycho-social skills which might trigger the issue of their social exclusion.
Assistance was provided to more than 300 persons who are vulnerable, professionally non-active or poor, with low professional qualifications. Thanks to participating in the project they were able to become more active in various zones of life and to commence work – frequently for the first time in their life – and to gain faith in their own strengths and possibilities. The participants used the assistance of professional consultant and underwent a training (along with paid several-month-long internships) in such professions as: typographers, kitchen chef’s assistant, waiter, receptionist, glass decorator, green area personnel. As a result, more than 200 persons actively sought employment and approx. 30 managed to find engagement in professional activity facilities.
