Revitalization of the "Czarna Góra" Park in Olkusz - task no. 11.3 in GPR
Thanks to EU funds, the inhabitants of Olkusz can enjoy the renovated space of Czarna Góra Park. A modern sports and recreation complex has been built there, serving not only professional athletes, but also all those who value active recreation outdoors.
As part of the project, the surface on two full-size football pitches – with natural and artificial grass – was replaced. LED lighting was also mounted, so both facilities can also be used after dark. A new running track was installed and training facilities were built. One can train all athletic disciplines there: long- and short-distance runs, steeplechase, long jumps, triple jumps, high jumps, pole vaults, shot put, javelin and discus throw. The whole was supplemented with partially covered stands (for approx. 600 people) with sanitary facilities and a parking lot for 60 vehicles. Accordingly, one can easily arrange football tournaments and athletics meetings in Olkusz.
For families with children, there are three playgrounds with safe polyurethane surfaces, including one dedicated to children with disabilities. Moreover, residents have an outdoor gym, fitness equipment, rest points (park benches and 2 gazebos), as well as walking and cycling paths at their disposal.
