Zabłocie Park - Wisła Station
The aim of the project was to create a park in the XIII District Podgórze, between the Lotników Alianckich Boulevard and Zabłocie Street, at the site of the former Krakow-Wisła station. It stopped operating in 2002 and since then the area has been used as a parking lot. The brownfield and post-industrial area were turned into a place of recreation for the residents of Krakow. The revaluation included the renewal of the existing vegetation, as well as new plantings of trees and shrubs, to be a protective barrier for dust and noise from the street. Elements of the former Wisła Station have been preserved and exposed, and new walking and cycling routes have been constructed. The whole park has been enriched with elements of small architecture. Twelve functional and recreational zones were established there. Special places for a picnic or barbecue, a play area with a natural playground, as well as a flower meadow, city farm, wooden crates to grow your own vegetables and fruits were separated, among others. At the pavilion there is also a recreational terrace with deckchairs, and a stage for summer dance activities, and the whole is complemented by rain gardens, which increase the retention of the area.
